Sashiko Placemat Kit x2 Japanese Embroidery Kit for Beginners DIY Quilted Table Mats

Sashiko Placemat Kit

Create a beautiful pair of hand-stitched placemats with this complete sashiko kit. Designed to be beginner-friendly, the kit includes everything you need to make two quilted linen placemats, each measuring approximately 30 × 20 cm.

Choose your linen colour and sashiko design to create a coordinated pair for your table, while enjoying the simple, meditative rhythm of traditional Japanese stitching.

Your complete kit includes:

• Pre-cut linen fabric for 2 placemats
• Wadding for 2 placemats
• Water-soluble sashiko templates in your chosen design
• Olympus sashiko thread
• Sashiko needle
• Printed step-by-step instructions

Easy peel-and-stick templates

There’s no tracing or ironing required. Simply peel away the backing, position the water-soluble template on your linen and stitch through the printed design. When you’ve finished, wash away the template to reveal your stitching.

The layer of wadding gives the finished placemats a softly quilted feel while adding useful protection for your table.

Beginner friendly

You don’t need previous sashiko, embroidery or quilting experience. Sashiko uses a simple running stitch, making this an enjoyable introduction to Japanese stitching as well as a relaxing project for more experienced stitchers.

Make a set for your own home or give the kit as a thoughtful gift to someone who loves sewing, embroidery or trying a new craft.
